Her five arrows are the bare sense-qualities themselves, so that every sight, sound, touch, taste and smell is a shaft loosed from her bow.

In the stotra the name is chanted as it stands, pañcatanmātrasāyakā, as part of Shloka 3. In the nāmāvalī, the form used for arcana(worship with an offering at each name), it is turned to the dative, the case of offering: “to her”. Then it is framed by oṃ before and namaḥ, “salutation”, after.
